Brian Telfair – Director

Brian K. Telfair received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Virginia State University in 1983. He received a Master’s in Education from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1985. He received his Juris Doctorate from the College of William & Mary Law School in 1990. While at William & Mary, he was a member of the Moot Court Board (Research Justice) and was named to the Order of the Barristers.

Upon graduating law school, Mr. Telfair went in-house where the represented The Dow Chemical Company in toxic tort matters. He then joined MillerCanfield in 1992 where he handled numerous motions, non-jury and jury trials. Mr. Telfair returned to Virginia in 1996 when he joined the law firm of Wilder & Gregory. While there, Mr. Telfair established himself as a learned counsel who was not afraid to take a case to trial. In 1996, he joined the law firm of Bowman & Brooke, LLP where he specialized in complex catastrophic injury cases involving allegations of product defect. This representation continued at stops at WombleCarlyle (2005) and LeClairRyan (2008).

Recently, Mr. Telfair opened the Telfair Law Firm, LLC in 2017. To date, Mr. Telfair has handled thousands of cases both civil and criminal. He is rated AV Pre-eminent by Martindale Hubbell. In 2015, Virginia Business Magazine named him one of the Commonwealth’s top corporate counsel. In 2016, Virginia Business Magazine named him one of the top civil litigators in Virginia.
